Adventurous Spirit Photo Winner: Eerie Glow
The winner of this week’s Adventure to Dominica contest is James Clear, who submitted this photo of himself standing eerily below the lights of the Aurora Borealis. As Clear put it, “My camera didn’t respond very well to such conditions (I went through 12 batteries that night!) and it was a struggle to have everything working when the Aurora started up. In the end, it was all worth it for this shot.”
James, you win a pair of Ahnu shoes! And in addition, you are now eligible to win a trip for two to Dominica–your photo will be posted on June 1st with the rest of the finalists’ photos, at which point readers will vote on their favorites. The photo with the most votes wins the Adventure to Dominica trip!
What’s this Adventure to Dominica contest all about?
Dominica, an adventurer’s paradise, is nicknamed “Nature Island” because of the abundance of exotic plants and animals that live in its numerous rain forests and national parks. If your ideal island adventure includes bird watching while jumping off pristine waterfalls and cooling off after playing on the beach by exploring rain forests in search of hidden lakes, then it’s time for a fundamental shift of thinking: Dominica is your new Caribbean.

Each week we will choose an entrant’s photo that best showcases his or her adventurous spirit.
